Monkey Pajamas

Is it too late to post about Christmas? Wait...don't answer that.

Since my memory seems to have vanished with the birth of my first child, I've got keep track of our life somehow.

Scrap booking? Um,no! Baby books? That might work for Brennen and Tilden. But the other two? I prefer not to discuss it:)If they ever ask me about their baby book, I'll just discreetly refer them to the blog of 2010. That should do the trick, don't ya think?

"I don't know when you got your first tooth, sweetie, but did you see the darling monkey pajamas you had when you were four?"

"See, you were loved!"

 Christmas Eve:

It might have gone something like this. I can't really remember and the details seem a bit fuzzy.

The festivities started with handsome men cooking scrumptious food for all the ladies and children.

             Except for this one...

This one definitely WASN'T cooking!

Meanwhile, the rest of the group was able to sit back, relax and get in a few good pictures.

See, I told you! They can't get enough of the camera!

BACON! Ever good party must have its fair share of bacon. (Now might be the appropriate time to report that I'm STILL scrubbing the bacon grease off my back splash!)

Papa, the ever present supervisor of chaos.

We... read the Christmas story

knitted

struck a pose

silly string

and shared some love

Then we were off to see Ben's side of the family for our annual pj gift exchange.

Once again, she's never short on the drama!

She gets it from her father! I promise!

I leave you with happy pictures of the Puckett Christmas 2010.

Cherishing every moment,
Lori

Baby Bump Envy

Three of the four sisters in my family are pregnant. That's right, I'm the odd man out! While I'm confident that NOW is not in God's timing for our family, I must admit to feeling an ache in my heart for another. As we sit around together after a family dinner on "contraction watch", part of me longs for the feeling of another little one rolling around inside and sweet baby kicks. Maybe this is just what it means to be a woman, the never wanting to say goodbye to a phase in life that was so cherished and precious.

Friends bring their newborns to Christmas gatherings and my eyes well up with tears; I hear of smiles from a baby boy in Ethiopia waiting for his forever family and my heart rejoices! Babies are such a BLESSING, and these next ones can't get here fast enough! So, Chani, Molly and Dee...if I squeeze your baby too tightly, bury my face too deeply while trying to get a sniff of that yummy lavender lotion, or get misty-eyed for no apparent reason, please forgive me! After all, I'm a woman with baby envy. What else can I say?

So, I leave you with this....

Some BABY LOVE for your day!

Extra credit for correctly identifying the baby bumps:)

Christmas Week 2010

This past week has been a whirlwind of activities around the Puckett house...homecomings, Broadway shows, presents, family and food.
Food, did I mention the enormous amount of food I consumed? I'm getting my carcass on the treadmill tomorrow; I promise!:)

It all began on a chilly Monday morning when we welcomed home our family hero, Uncle Dana, from his LONG deployment.

AHHH.
Enough of that...get him kids!

Dana left on deployment when Molly looked like this,

And he came home to this lovely sight.

Baby Canby will be joining our family in 21 days (give or take a few) and we couldn't be more thrilled!!

I also had the privilege that day of watching one of my favorite little girls welcome home her daddy! *sniff, sniff*

Thanks guys for your service to our country.

Christmas Card 2010

Because it's a great deal cheaper than stamps and easier
than licking 100 envelopes, we present the Puckett
       family's 2010 Christmas card...blog style. I can say that,
right? Blog style? Well, whatever, you get the point:)

 Merry Christmas

With Love,
Ben, Lori, Tilden, Brennen, Tate and Lane

I wish there were a way for all of us to gather in one place and share in the warmth and love that this season brings. But until then...
